Retreat 18407 – Dumfries, Southern Scotland

Introduction

Set within the countryside on the outskirts of the historic marketing towns of Castle Douglas and Dumfries both with a good selection of shops restaurants and friendly country pubs. Solway Firth is within easy reach with 200 miles of spectacular coastline and sandy beaches to visit. For the more active there are plenty of walking hiking and cycling routes and the famous Seven Stanes mountain bike trail. There are many attractions in the area for all including Caerlaverock Threave and Drumlanrig castles Robert Burns house numerous golf courses and wildlife reserves. Step inside this lovely lodge into the hall leave your shoes and coats behind and head through to the lovely spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has comfy sofas and a TV to catch up on your favourite programme. French doors lead directly out to the decked balcony with amazing views. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area with table and chairs is the perfect place to enjoy a meal together and plan the next day s adventures. Further down from here is the king-size bedroom with TV and en-suite bathroom with a lovely free-standing bath separate shower and WC. Completing the accommodation is the handy separate WC. Venture outside from the lounge area to the spacious decking with beautiful views and seating to enjoy al fresco dining or an evening glass of wine. After a busy day step into the private hot tub for a soak which is located next to the lodge. Ample off-road parking is available beside the lodge.
