National Trust Clumber Park is great for walking and cycling Sherwood Forest with the mighty Major Oak tree and the home of Robin Hood and Rufford Abbey with its lake and playpark all within 15 miles. Southwell is 6 miles away with its famous minster along with independent shops and cafes. Newark on Trent is 7 miles away where you can find lots to do from picnics in the castle grounds to taking a boat trip on the river or a visit to the civil war museum.
