The village also lies on the edge of the Blaenavon World Heritage site home to several historic attractions including the Big Pit National Coal Museum Blaenavon Heritage Railway and Blaenavon Iron Works. There are many miles of walks cycle routes and towpaths within easy reach and opportunities to try climbing abseiling canoeing and caving are all on your doorstep. For a more restful day trip nearby Abergavenny is a must which has built an excellent culinary reputation and a visit to the award-winning high street in Crickhowell is highly recommended.
