Introduction

The perfect property for those looking for a family or group holiday in glorious Dorset this superb 18th-century thatched farmhouse just 3 miles from Bridport offers an idyllic country retreat. Built in old red brick with wisteria winding around a charming thatched front porch the cottage is bordered by a picket fence dotted with wildflowers which only adds to its country charm. Spend lazy days wandering the estate by foot bike or horse – you can even bring your equine friend on holiday with you if you fancy exploring the area on horseback. When you need provisions walk less than 2 miles along the private waterside track to Symondsbury village where you can pick up supplies from a selection of delightful shops as well as having a bite to eat in the Symondsbury Kitchen. Inside an open-plan light-filled kitchen and dining room is the ideal place to start the day. A range cooker is just the place to rustle up a warming breakfast on cold winter mornings or to prepare healthy salads for a summer afternoon barbie. This delightful room with original beams and stonework also has a fireplace in front of which to warm your hands after a brisk country walk across the estate. Or pop through to the comfortable sitting room with some toasted crumpets in hand and stretch out in front of the roaring wood burner housed in its own traditional inglenook fireplace. When the time comes to lay your head down four sumptuous bedrooms await to lull you into a peaceful sleep. Outside summer living comes easy at this property. A delightful outside dining terrace overlooking rolling fields as far as the eye can see is the perfect spot for balmy evenings chatting long into the night with friends and family over a smoky BBQ. Whatever the weather guests can sink into the outside hot tub for a little stargazing under the dark night sky. Those who aren t ready for bed can challenge fellow guests to a game of table footie in the games room just make sure that nobody gets too competitive!
