Introduction

Finchingfield is a picture-perfect chocolate-box village in North Essex where you are spoilt for choice with a variety of places to eat and drink including traditional pubs fine dining restaurants and tea rooms. If you do decide to head out for the day then you also have plenty of places within easy reach including the beautiful medieval market town of Saffron Walden just 13 miles away or the market town of Clare only 9 miles away with a host of independent shops antique shops and a further choice of culinary delights. 20 miles away is the widely recognised birthplace of thoroughbred horse racing Newmarket. After parking at the back of the property you walk into the rear entrance this is the perfect place to kick off those walking boots and hang up your coats the entrance lobby / utility area has a washer/dryer and butler sink before you head through into the rest of this wonderful property which boasts many original features with exposed beams and tasteful artwork throughout. As you walk through into the hallway to your right is the first lounge known as the Gold Room which provides a perfect place to relax perhaps with a book or simply your thoughts whilst you fire up the wood burner and cosy up on the sofa or either one of two armchairs. There is also a Smart TV. Down the hallway and to the right-hand side is the second lounge area which as well as glorious garden views you have another wood burner two large sofas two arm-chairs which surround a Smart TV so rest those tired legs and gather around with friends and loved ones whilst you watch or stream your favourite show or movie. Back out into the hallway and to the right is the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner which has another wood burner and has been carefully designed with a social aspect in mind and is equipped with a Rangemaster oven and induction hob microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is an island with four stools that you can enjoy your morning coffee and a sofa. Alternatively you can enjoy meals over at the dining table which can seat up to 10 guests and even features a small bar area with a range of complimentary drinks to accompany your meal. Upstairs to the first floor you have three bedrooms all of which have plenty of storage space for your belongings and each has a super-king-size bed. Two of the bedrooms have their own en-suite shower rooms the master en suite has a large walk in shower cubicle and WC and the remaining bedroom has use of a family bathroom with bath separate shower and WC. Outside there is a large kitchen terrace patio area with smoker and Bushcbeck BBQ. Open up the bi-fold doors and gather around on the comfortable garden furniture while you enjoy some cocktails and a spot of al fresco style dining perhaps while watching the sunset over the open fields surrounded by the resident miniature donkeys and Shetland ponies and keep an eye out for wildlife which can been seen on a regular basis including barn owls roe deer hares wagtails red kites and buzzards. There is plenty of private parking for up to three cars. Please note this property is on a working farm.There will be a woodfired hot tub available from 01/12/2021. A short walk from the cottage is the shack an outbuilding that guests can use for outdoor eating evening drinks.
