Just 3 miles away is the market town of Sturminster Newton which has further amenities a pretty working mill and popular trailway which leads to Blandford Forum. This is the ideal route for walking and cycling or plan a stroll along the Wessex Ridgeway. Hambledon Hill and neighbouring Hod Hill (5 miles) are also well worth a visit to take in the stunning views across three counties. The nearby River Stour boasts some excellent wild swimming spots perfect for the summer months or explore local towns including Shaftesbury (8 miles) home to the iconic Gold Hill. Accessed via an unmade lane and shared drive (bumpy in places) this semi-detached converted barn is timber clad and has lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Set within an organic farm sliding doors give access into the light and bright open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. To the rear of the space is the kitchen which features an electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. There is space to dine just opposite and comfortable seating beside the wood burner and Smart TV. There is also a ground floor shower room with a walk-in shower and WC and stairs rising to the first floor. Here you will find a king-size bedroom with balcony window and a twin bedroom just opposite. There is a separate WC between the two bedrooms. Due to the setting within the eaves there are some areas of restricted head height which only adds to the character and charm of the building. To the rear of the property is an open terrace with dividing privacy fence hot tub picnic bench charcoal BBQ (in the summer months) and large open field ideal for ball games. Guests are welcome to play tennis badminton volleyball or football at the adjacent private all-weather sports barn (rackets and balls provided). Slots are available on request with the owner 24 hours in advance. Stabling and use of a paddock are available on request. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king size and 1 twin. 1 shower room with WC and 1 separate WC. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Wood burner (first basket of logs included). Smart TV available in the lounge. Open terrace with dividing privacy fence, hot tub (from July 2022), picnic bench, charcoal BBQ (in the summer months) and large shared open field. Allocated off road parking available for 2 cars. Adjacent private all weather sports barn suitable for tennis, badminton, volleyball or football (rackets and balls provided) Slots are available on request with the owner, 24 hours in advance, between 10am and 5pm. Stabling for one horse and use of a paddock available on request. Shop and pub half a mile. Part of a complex of 2 properties, for larger groups, this property can be booked together with the neighbouring barn, accommodating eight guests with an interlinking door.
