Places worth visiting include Dalbeattie (4.5 miles) Scotland s Food Town Castle Douglas (10 miles) and Artist s Town Kirkcudbright (17 miles). Visit RSPB Mersehead (8 miles) or Galloway Activity Centre at Loch Ken which offers a great choice of water sports and activities (20 miles). Get out on foot at Galloway Forest Park (25 miles) or tour the castles of Caerlaverock (26 miles) and Threave (14 miles).
