Introduction

Set amongst glorious countryside in a scenic region a recently renovated converted byre and hemmel situated on a working farm just 7 miles from the beautiful city of Durham where you will find the cathedral university museums shops and relaxing river walks. The nearby market town of Wolsingham (9 miles) is known as the Gateway to Weardale offering a range of scenic walking routes. Visit fascinating historic castles at Raby (12 miles) and Barnard Castle (19 miles) and pick up some local produce at the weekly market on Wednesdays. Head to the quiet oasis of Hamsterley Forest with stunning walking trails wonderful wildlife and dark sky stargazing. Tour nearby 12th-century Brancepath Castle and play golf at one of the region s best courses or book tickets for one of Kynren s spectacular outdoor performances (July-September) both within a 6 mile radius. Take in your wonderful rural surroundings and admire the views over the hillside and the neighbouring cattle roaming in the fields. Step inside to find a beautifully presented open plan living space combining the kitchen dining area and lounge with a wood-burning stove in the corner and exposed beams. A welcoming abode to return after a long walk. The kitchen is generously equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast.
