Set amongst glorious countryside in a scenic region a recently renovated converted byre and hemmel situated on a working farm just 7 miles from the beautiful city of Durham where you will find the cathedral university museums shops and relaxing river walks. The nearby market town of Wolsingham (9 miles) is known as the Gateway to Weardale offering a range of scenic walking routes. Visit fascinating historic castles at Raby (12 miles) and Barnard Castle (19 miles) and pick up some local produce at the weekly market on Wednesdays. Head to the quiet oasis of Hamsterley Forest with stunning walking trails wonderful wildlife and dark sky stargazing. Tour nearby 12th-century Brancepath Castle and play golf at one of the region s best courses or book tickets for one of Kynren s spectacular outdoor performances (July-September) both within a 6 mile radius. Take in your wonderful rural surroundings and admire the views over the hillside and the neighbouring cattle roaming in the fields. Step inside to find a beautifully presented open plan living space combining the kitchen dining area and lounge with a wood-burning stove in the corner and exposed beams. A welcoming abode to return after a long walk. The kitchen is generously equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast. Congregate at the dining table with your party and share stories from your day s travels. After dinner venture back into the warm atmosphere warmed by the flames of the wood burner and snuggle up in front of the fire to watch a film on the Smart TV or perhaps play a board game. When it s time for bed there are two bedrooms in the main house a beautiful and spacious king-size bedroom and a twin-room bedroom both with space to store your belongings and a family bathroom. The other two bedrooms are up a few steps across the patio in a separate hemmel annexe which offers another king-size bedroom and a twin room. There is a shower room that compliments this area. A large enclosed patio joins the two buildings where you can enjoy a lazy breakfast evening meal or sink into the wood-fired hot tub to rest your muscles after a long day of exploring.
