Introduction

Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay in this double shepherd s hut which is located on the edge of the picturesque town of Moffat. The town has a rich heritage and is also recognised as a Dark Sky location so a wonderful place to admire the stars. Moffat boasts an array of local quirky shops a monthly farmer s market friendly pubs and numerous eateries. There is an interesting museum an 18-hole golf course and a beautiful park with a boating lake putting green and interactive water feature Moffatasia. Explore the huge selection of local walking and bike trails with breathtaking views. Enjoy a trip to Grey Mare s Tail Nature Reserve; one of the UK s highest waterfalls plunging 60 metres leading to Loch Skeen St Mary s Loch and the Devil s Beef Tub all within 17 miles. Drive down the private road and through the glorious grounds of the country Mansion you will find our bespoke handcrafted double shepherd s hut nestling in between the trees just in front of the Evan Water. The Shepherd s Hut is named after the first owner of the Mansion -Thomas George Bishop of Beattock. Climb the three steps up and make your way into the smart and stylish accommodation. There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen area where you can enjoy cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and dine at the spacious glass-topped table. Relax in the lounge where you can enjoy a movie on the TV or sit back with a local dram or locally crafted beer. There are two bedrooms to choose from; a double and a twin which has amazing views of the pond or the Evan Water. Both bedrooms share a bright shower room. Outside there is a slabbed patio area that has a roomy picnic bench and patio furniture. Relax under the stars in the bubbling hot tub with beautiful views. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 double and 1 twin. 1 bathroom shower room and WC. Electric oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave. TV. Travel cot available upon request. Private patio with seating. Large mature garden with pond. Private hot tub. Private parking for 2 cars. Shops 1.5 miles, pubs and restaurants under 0.25 miles.
