The village gastro pub is just a stone s throw away but plenty of fine dining restaurants if you fancy something a bit more special. Just down the hill there is a tiny rural train station where you can hop aboard the Wensleydale steam trains – heaven for kids and rather delightful for adults too head up to Leyburn for lunch before taking the train back home again! Beyond the village is the attractive town of Bedale (6.4miles). In the opposite direction you ll find the charming market towns of Leyburn (4.5 miles) and Richmond (10 miles) and Northallerton (14 miles) – You ll find traditional shops pubs and cafes all gathered around the handsome town square and have weekly markets. Make your to the front door by car to unload instantly you will appreciate what the lodge has to offer. For extra entertainment the dining table cleverly converts to a snooker table and ping-pong table! The lodge has two generously sized bedrooms the first is a super-king-sized room with plenty of storage and a Smart TV – great for lazy lie ins. The second bedroom is a single room with a pull-out full sized single so whether it s for a couple or a child you will have a perfect nights sleep. Both beds are fitted with seriously comfy mattresses and are dressed in 400 thread count cotton. Completing the property is the large family bathroom. The enclosed garden is perfect for little ones to run around in safely with a variety of outdoor toys to keep them happy. The paddock surrounding the cottage to the rear is home to Shetland ponies and the kids will love coming out to say good morning every day. The decked veranda with its glass balustrades has the most picturesque views of the Yorkshire Dales countryside and you can often see the steam trains of the Wensleydale Railway puffing along below.
