The local pub offers hearty homemade food which is a delight after a walk up to the top of Codden Hill where you can see Dartmoor. A trip to the picturesque village of Instow (10 miles) well known for its attractive dog-friendly sandy waterfront with a cafe several pubs and restaurants. In the summer months hop on the pedestrian boat ferry across to Appledore and stroll around its pretty cobbled streets with a selection of independent shops and cafes. For surfing lovers visit Westward Ho! (11 miles) with its 3 miles of sand and surf.
