Introduction

Burghley House & Deer Park Stamford s most famous nature attraction dates back to the 16th century and is considered to be one of the finest Elizabethan houses. It plays host to the Burghley Film Festival Battle Proms Concert and Burghley Horse Trials and houses a beautiful sculpture garden and a picturesque orangery. The nearby towns Oakham Oundle and Uppingham are a great idea for a day trip. Tolethorpe Hall houses the Stamford Shakespeare Company which has annual open-air performances in June July and August. Rutland Water and Tallington Lakes provide a range of water sports. The Lincolnshire countryside also has walking and cycling trails with a selection of good local pubs en route. The magical character begins to surround you the moment you pull onto the driveway. Stepping through into the hallway with a wonderful open staircase and colourful tiled floor you begin to get a feel for the property. There is a dining room with space to sit the whole family a truly grand room with huge Georgian windows providing a special place for a celebration dinner. The lounge offers ample comfortable seating beautiful views over the garden and a cosy open fire for ultimate relaxation. The kitchen has everything you need for a home away from home stay if cooking on the traditional Aga isn t your thing there is an electric oven and hob for a more conventional way of cooking. Additionally there is a fridge/freezer and dishwasher so no need to worry about washing up. The kitchen also benefits from a dining area with farmhouse table a great spot for breakfast. There is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom with views over the garden and a bathroom with hand held shower over bath and WC and a separate WC. On the first floor is an impressive bedroom with ornate French king-size bed and views over the garden. There are a further two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. The spacious bathroom offers a bath enclosed shower and WC. Heading up to the second floor you will find a spacious bedroom with king-size bed two single beds and additional single pull out bed (available on request) and an en-suite bathroom with hand held shower over an oval bath and WC. Outside there is an enclosed patio area with a hot tub and surrounding seating. Enjoy the extensive gardens that surround the property. For those looking for some competitive fun there is a games room with a pool table and a darts board. The location benefits from ample off-road parking.
