This unique retreat has been inspired by a local wartime love story Esme and Fred s it is beautifully finished with memorabilia from Esme s days as a Land-Girl. You will enter into an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/sleeping area. The kitchen area has an induction hob small fridge Krups coffee maker and milk frother great for lazy breakfasts or light suppers should you choose to bring back local ingredients from the nearby farm shop. There are two chairs and a table that can be set up within the hut where you can enjoy a cosy dinner. The double bed sits at one end of the hut where on a warm summer s evening why not lie back in bed with the doors open and enjoy a night of gazing up at the stars or curl up and watch a DVD with the wood burner crackling. Beneath the bed you will find plenty of storage for your stay. Located at the other end of the hut is the shower room with WC complete with fluffy towels bathrobes and slippers. Outside the shepherds hut has an enclosed garden/orchard with a covered decked area with a table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals using the pizza oven which doubles up as a charcoal BBQ. There is a beautiful wood-fired hot tub for you to relax in the evenings. ( 20 charge for hot tub use) The orchard features tools and workbenches that Fred & Esme used. As you dine you will feel very secluded whilst keeping in with the 1940 s theme why not play cards games or enjoy a wartime novel – a truly unique and memorable experience. There is a private gated driveway immediately behind the hut with ample off-road parking.
