Enjoying a wonderful rural location and set against a backdrop of rolling hills and open fields this lovely four-bedroom farmhouse is the ideal destination for families and friends seeking a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. Situated on the edge of the sleepy village of Crai there are walks straight from the front door through the scenic landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Lace up your walking boots for a hike up the highest peak in South Wales Pen y Fan (12 miles) the tallest peak in South Wales. Well worth a visit is the historic town of Brecon (12 miles). The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal runs through the town for peaceful walks along the towpath and boat hire is available for a scenic trip along the town. Llangorse Lake (18 miles) offers a choice of activities including kayak and rowboat hire rock climbing and zip line course. Not to be missed are The National Show Caves of Wales (8 miles) where you can explore the magnificent Cathedral Cave and chilling Bone Cave. This fabulous farmhouse one of a complex of properties at this location is surrounded by its own private garden and enjoys uninterrupted views across open countryside. Pull up onto the driveway and follow the path around to the front door. The spacious kitchen is truly the heart of this home with exposed beams tiled floor and original low windows. Gather together around the large traditional farmhouse table to share meals and discuss the highlights of the day. The kitchen has everything you could need including the blue oil-fired AGA stove electric cooker and five-ring gas hob microwave dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Beside the back door is a handy utility room with a washing machine and a downstairs WC. There are two comfortable reception rooms within the property. The main living room is a welcoming room for relaxation and spending time together. Sink into the sofas or put your feet up in the reclining chairs after a long day walking in the hills and relax in the gentle heat of the wood burner set into the large stone fireplace. The second living room boasts exposed ceiling beams a sofa bed and the original ornamental fireplace (not in use). Mix up a cocktail at the drinks bar and enjoy lively conversation late into the night. Both living rooms have TVs. Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find the four comfortable bedrooms. There are two king-size bedrooms and two double bedrooms all with ample storage. The spacious family bathroom has a bath and separate shower and there is an additional shower room on this floor. Venturing outside to the pretty garden spread out your blanket for a picnic lunch on the expansive lawn taking in the views of the surrounding hills. After a long walk in the Brecon Beacons soak your limbs in the private hot tub. There is private parking beside the property.
