Retreat 30043 – Minehead, Somerset

Escape to this peaceful secluded sanctuary it s the perfect place to relax and return to nature. Nestled in picturesque woodland in the heart of the Exmoor countryside this delightful shepherd s hut boasts a beautiful bespoke living space ideal for couples wanting to escape everyday life. The local village of Wheddon Cross is 2.5 miles away with a local shop and pub and is most renowned for its displays of the little white flowers in February each year.

Visit the medieval town of Dunster with its variety of shops cafes and castle. Why not walk-through Snowdrop Valley up to the summit of Dunkery Beacon where the views are far-reaching? Other points of interest include the West Somerset Steam Railway Valley of the Rocks and Lynton and Lynmouth with the iconic water-powered cliff railway. Stepping inside the hut you will be taken aback by the detail that has gone into its design.

The living space incorporates a small dining table and chairs ideal for breakfast lunch or dinner plus there is also a welcoming wood burner with logs provided. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook your meals including a two-ring gas hob fridge and Belfast sink. The double bed is at the other end of the hut and perfectly situated for you to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding woodland while you put your feet up and relax.

There is a separate hut just a couple of steps away which houses the spacious shower room with a large shower cubicle washbasin and WC. Outside the hut has a decked area complete with a bistro table and chairs with views out over the woodlands and fields beyond. After a day of exploring come back and relax in the wood fired hot tub Then venture down a few steps to a larger decked area with a picnic bench and fire pit with logs provided.

Please note: There is ample parking but depending on the weather you may have to park up and walk to your hut (around 5 minutes). A trolley for your luggage is provided.
