Visit the lake at Ullswater (15 miles) where you can board a steamer for a relaxing cruise hire kayaks jump in for a swim try your hand at fishing or simply take in the splendid scenery. Alternatively enjoy a day s sightseeing at Hutton-in-the-Forest (3 miles) or Dalemain Mansion (11 miles) both historic houses with attractive gardens. Wine and dine in the beer garden at the local village pub (200m) or head to the market town of Penrith (7 miles) with its wonderful selection of eateries shops and local amenities.
