In a quiet spot on the outskirts of the village of Ludgvan sits this delightful shepherd s hut overlooking an apple orchard and set apart from other properties on the site. Set within five acres of tropical gardens with winding footpaths and exotic planting this makes a lovely base for exploring the area. Enjoy walks along country lanes or join the St Michael s Way Pilgrimage route to Lelant near St Ives and experience the historical significance of this path. Catch a train from St Erth (3.2 miles) into St Ives and delight at the beauty of one of the most picturesque train journeys in the land. Explore Marazion (2.6 miles) on the shores of Mount s Bay with its quaint streets lined with beautiful old cottages and elegant merchants houses and at low tide walk the causeway over to St Michael s Mount to marvel at the 360-degree views from the top. Stepping up into the characterful hut you will immediately find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/dining/sleeping area. Tucked away at the far end under the curved ceiling is a double bed with a retro tubular frame. The galley kitchen allows for cooking simple meals with the additional fire pit/barbecue in the garden for increased options and there s a dining set with café-style chairs. The shower room is small but beautifully formed with a spacious walk-in shower and a built-in wardrobe for clothes storage. Meticulously designed to pay homage to its rural heritage this charming hut is adorned with simple yet tasteful furnishings making it an ideal destination for a short stay to relax and rejuvenate. Embrace the delightful and cosy atmosphere of this country retreat offering a truly authentic back to nature experience. Open the doors and listen to the sound of the birds singing from the trees and have breakfast al fresco enjoying the views over the orchard and woodland below. The outside area is peaceful and gorgeous with a private decking area with a wood-fired hot tub in which to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Explore the five acres of gardens which are teaming with birds and wildlife and exotic plants including Tree Ferns Rhododendrons and Giant Gunnera from across the world. Ancient varieties of apple trees are planted in the orchard adjoining the hut. Throughout the gardens are various sculptures and statues many created by local artists from local materials. Need to know: 1 bedroom 1 double. 1 bathroom with shower and WC. Electric hob, combination microwave/oven and fridge with ice box. There is no TV in the hut however there is a retro radio and selection of books available. Internet access is available on site but the signal is unreliable in the hut. Wood fired hot tub (first set of logs provided). Deck to the front with outdoor seating overlooking the orchard Secondary seating area with fire pit/barbecue (first set of logs provided) Access to the 5 acre sub tropical gardens along secluded footpaths and wild running track leading to the untamed valley below. Part of a complex of four properties which include Water Lily Lodge, The Snug Barn and Woodland Cabin. Private parking for 1 car. Shop 0.5 miles, pub 0.5 miles, beach 2.5 miles.
